Mayors Community Parade

Date: 10 June 2018
Location: Mansfield Civic Centre and Parade through Town Centre

Community Parade

In association with Mansfield Rotary Club, Sister Cities Association and Mansfield District Council.

Parade through town involving:

Local community groups such as: Girl Guiding (Rainbows, Brownies and Guides), Scouts (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts), cadets, Friend Groups (Friends of Carr Bank etc.), heritage groups, Neighbourhood Watch, Youth Groups, WI etc. – groups will walk with their banners or flags.

Sports clubs / Mansfield Town FC

Colliery bands/marching bands

Mansfield Rotary Club

Local Businesses – Drive in corporate vehicles – two people on either side of the vehicle will hand out sweets to children as they pass.

Classic Cars, bikes and other vintage vehicles.

Charities – collect money along the route.

Emergency Services: Police, Fire Service, Ambulance , Air Ambulance, (could drive their emergency vehicle in the parade)

Royal British Legion, Armed Forces etc.

Miss Mansfield

Youth Mayor.

Local Churches.

Mayor will lead the parade through town.

Places in the parade can be booked on Eventbrite. – need an opening and closing date for bookings.

Nottinghamshire County Council Highways have to be contacted regarding the closure of roads and Licensing for street collections.

The parade will start at Civic Centre/ Chesterfield Road Cricket Pitch and end in the same place.

The parade will take approximately an hour.

Chesterfield Road Park 

On the park charities can have a free stall.

There will be other stalls offering food and a fun fair.

Families can bring a picnic and enjoy the summer weather.

The museum could have a pop up gallery with the theme of past parades/celebrations in Mansfield

Theatre/dance groups could put on performances.
